We asked People on the Streets how the crusades personally effected them and if they had any other thoughts on the out come of the wars.
Interview with Mr.Muhammed Shabazz
We travelled deep into Mecca to find someone who was personally effected by the crusades and that’s when we found Mr. Shabazz. We asked him questions regarding on how life has been since the crusades have ended. “HI this is Bill reporting from Mecca and I’m here with Mr. Shabazz. So Mr. Shabazz can you please tell us on how the crusades have effected your life? ” “Well personally the only problems that I have faced are the loss of my 3 sons during the fighting. It’s been very hard tending to my shop without them. I am only left with my one daughter.” “I’m very sad to hear that. But can you tell us more about problems regarding economic and religious aspects of your life? Do you feel that what your people have done is wrong?” “Absolutely not! The Christians are the ones to blame for this. The crusades have really brought the Muslims together and we are now a more family type culture. But economically most of us are doing fine. The crusades really seemed to effect the Christians more than us.” “Well is there anything else you would like to tell us?” “No that is all.” “Well thank you Mr. Shabazz.” |
Interview with Christian Johnson
Here I am on the streets of Jerusalem, looking for someone to interview. I see a very interesting man, dressed like he came back from Crusading. This should be good. What are your reflections on the Crusades now that they are finished? I would consider it to be quite unstable. And how do you mean by unstable? The eventual loss of everything really puts a damper on some people's faith in God will, and the church as a whole. There is always a bright side. What would you say the bright side is to the Crusades? As a crusader you ended up worse off than you started, you lost a lot of money. True, True. We struggled a lot financially as people, but our cities thrived. We also regained our holy city of Jerusalem-- Yes, but that was only after the First Crusade. The rest were just disasters. The rest were not as successful but they left us with a better understanding for the Islamic religion. What about the Turks? What is your opinion on that relationship? Completely gone. We lost that connection when we failed as relief for them. Thank you for your time. |
Interview with Mr. Elijah Rosen:
As I stand on the street corner in Jerusalem in search of someone to interview for my article, I see a man wearing a blue and white striped yamaka after having gone to services this morning. Excuse me sir- may I ask your opinions on the Crusades now that they have been concluded? I think they were horribly disastrous and a waste of time and energy. How did they affect the Jewish-Christian relationship? Well, as you might already be aware, these crusaders were very inspired by the ideology of holy war that during the First Crusade, they decided to join with local mobs and attack our Jewish families and communities. Some crusaders even went as far as burning people alive in the synagogues! How tragic! Yes! And the worst part is that the crusades weren’t even a great success or anything. Well the first one was beneficial because the Christians got ahold of Jerusalem again, but for me, for my families and relatives to be murdered so brutally just because these Christians want to win back their land, that’s pretty bad. Yes, yes, that makes sense. Now what’s going on now with your communities? Our communities are in the process of being rebuilt to where they were before. It won’t take too much time, though, because there wasn’t too much monumental damage to our communities. However, we will never get back the lives or dignity of our families who were slaughtered by the crusaders. I’m sorry for your losses. Thank you for your time. |
